Introduction to Dispensing Booth
  Dispensing Booth also known as sampling booth or Negative Pressure Weighing Room, is a local purification equipment with wide applications in the fields of pharmaceuticals, microbiological research and scientific experiments, specifically utilized in sampling, weighing, analysis and other special tasks. Dispensing booth is designed to provide a localized negative pressure and class A environment. It can effectively prevent cross contamination, ensuring the sterility of the experimental process with high efficiency dust removal. Additionally, the operating area of the negative pressure weighing room forms negative pressure compared to external environment, preventing the dust in the work area from spreading to the outside, thus protecting the external environment.


Working Principle of Sampling Booth
  Sampling Booth works according to the principles as below:
Airflow from sampling booth runs through the pre-filters and medium filters, driven by centrifugal fan to flow into the static pressure box, and then passes through the HEPA filter and uniform flow screen, then delivered to the work area in the form of clean and purified airflow. It then returns to the filter sections and completes the cycle. In order to maintain the negative pressure in the operation area of the sampling booth, it will discharge a certain percentage of circulating air, so that the sampling booth always maintains a slightly negative pressure than outside.

  The design of negative pressure sampling booth should strictly comply with the principle of three protection and three non-pollution, which is, to protect the drugs from contamination, to protect the operator from drug contamination, to protect the external environment from drug contamination.


Dispensing Booth Components and Features
  Dispensing Booth is mainly composed of housing, centrifugal fan, air supply/exhaust filter and control system, and can be configured with other functional components according to process requirements.
  The housing is usually made of stainless steel 304/316, which meets the environmental protection and food and drug production standards;
  The fan adopts backward centrifugal fan, with high efficiency, large air volume, low noise, energy-saving operation, safe and reliable;
  Dispensing Booth supply and exhaust outlets are both equipped with H14 HEPA filters, which are gel-sealed to achieve high sealing effect, higher filtration performance, and can create a Class 100 laminar air flow area easily; the filters are configured with an equalization membrane or diffusion plate to ensure uniform and stable clean airflow while working;
  There are two kinds of control panel for negative pressure weighing room: the basic control panel and the intelligent control panel. The basic one can realize the switch of lighting fixtures and fans and air speed regulation; the intelligent one, in addition to the functions of the basic panel, can also realize the detection and display of various parameters of the air inside the weighing room, such as difference pressures across all the filters, air velocity, resistance of HEPA filters and alarms.
  What’s more, the dispensing booth will be equipped with auxiliary components such as DOP test ports, differential pressure gauge, and UV lamp.

 

Technical characteristics of dispensing booth :
♦Modular design, to be quickly assembled, disassembled on site, and easy to use;
♦Uniform Laminar flow supply, making working area ISO 5 (Class A);
♦Maintain a negative pressure environment in the work area to prevent dust contamination from spreading to the surrounding area, such as volatile pharmaceuticals;

♦The enclosure is made of stainless steel, with high strength, corrosion resistance, good abrasion resistance, in line with food and drug production and GMP norms and standards;
♦Equipped with DOP test ports and differential pressure gauge, which it is convenient to detect the leakage of HEPA filter and monitor the differential pressure in the working area;
♦The control mode is optional to meet different customer needs


Applications of Dispensing Booth

  By forming a negative pressure working environment, negative pressure weighing room can effectively prevent the spread of dust, microorganisms and other contaminants and ensure the accuracy and reliability of the weighing process, which are widely used in a number of fields including, but not limited to:

♦Dispensing Booth in Pharmaceutical Industry: weighing steps for raw materials and finished products in the pharmaceutical process;
♦Chemical industry: for accurate weighing of products while preventing leakage of toxic and harmful gases;
♦Food industry: during food processing, prevent dust and microbial contamination, to ensure the hygienic quality of food;
♦Scientific research field: provide a clean and accurate weighing environment, for all kinds of materials, to protect researchers from harmful substance contamination, and improve laboratory safety;
♦Mining and refrigeration industry: weighing and analytical processing of various raw materials.

 

 


Technical Parameters of Dispensing Booth

Safety Regulation and Code Requirements on Dispensing Booth 
  GMP specifies relevant requirements for the design and manufacture of dispensing booth, including the design of its structure and airflow, the control range of differential pressure, and the requirement of HEPA filters, etc., to ensure the safety and accuracy of negative pressure weighing room during the production process.
  The structural design of GMP negative pressure weighing room should be reasonable to ensure stability and durability. The material should comply with the relevant standards and has good corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance and high temperature resistance.
  Dispensing booth’s pressure difference is generally maintained at -10Pa, and can be set to be automatically and manually adjusted. If the process in some industries requires higher negative pressure, it should be proposed before designing (For example, some biosafety laboratories need -30 ~ -60Pa negative pressure), so as to complete the design and manufacture processes according to the requirements. 
  Dispensing booth should adopt vertical unidirectional airflow, so that the clean airflow in the working area can form a stable unidirectional flow. With the high-standard HEPA filters, it can achieve the cleanliness of Class A. In addition, a reasonable air flow pattern should be designed to ensure the cleanliness while maintaining the negative pressure of the working area, so as to prevent cross-pollution, and protect the environment.


The Role of Dispensing booth for Pharmaceutical Production
  Dispensing booth create a negative pressure environment with the cleanliness of ISO 5 (Class A), which plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness of the pharmaceutical production environment and the stability of pharmaceutical quality.
During the pharmaceutical production process, the role of dispensing booth is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
♦Improvement of cleanliness in production environment: the working area of the dispensing booth can maintain a Class A environment, which provides the necessary environmental protection for the production and experiment of pharmaceutical and effectively enhances the quality;
♦Protection of operators: The negative pressure environment of the dispensing booth can effectively reduce the direct contact between the operator and the drugs, protecting the operator from the possible harm;
♦Protection of the external environment and prevention of cross-contamination: Dispensing booth can maintain the negative pressure environment in the working area, preventing the dust generated in the process of pharmaceutical production from spreading to the surrounding environment, thus avoiding cross-contamination, therefore effectively protecting the external environment and the indoor personnel;


  The application of sampling booth in pharmaceutical production not only improves the quality and safety, but also improves the production efficiency and reduces the production cost. Therefore, it has become an indispensable and important equipment in the process of pharmaceutical production.


Operation and Maintenance Regulations of Sampling Booth 
  Before starting operation in the sampling booth, make sure the following preparations have been completed:
  Confirm that the sampling booth has been properly installed and commissioned;
  Verify that the power of the sampling booth is safely turned on and the unit is in standby;
  Confirm that the sampling booth is free of any debris and that the air vents are not blocked;
  After preparation, the negative pressure weighing room can be used normally. Adjust the negative pressure value to the specified range to ensure that the negative pressure is stabilized during the weighing process. Prepare the required weighing tools and samples, and follow the correct procedure to carry out the weighing work. After weighing, record the weighing result and store the sample properly. Finally, turn off the power switch of the sampling booth and clean the weighing table and the surrounding environment to keep it tidy.

Maintenance of sampling booth:
Sampling booth maintenance personnel must be professionals or professionally trained;
Maintenance personnel must perform maintenance as specified;
Regularly clean the sampling booth to keep the interior and exterior tidy;
Regularly check whether the ventilation system and power supply are normal, whether the cleanliness of the working area, wind speed, pressure and other parameters meet the requirements, and if there is any abnormality, it should be dealt with in time;
Regular maintenance and repair of equipment, wearing parts, filters and other consumables should be conducted in a timely manner to detect (replace immediately if anything components do not meet requirements), to ensure the normal operation and service life of the equipment.
